When we were in North Carolina at the end of January, Betsy and I visited the Falls on Reems Creek in Weaverville, North Carolina. The falls is caused by a dam at an old mill site, but with something this beautiful, who cares how it came into being?

I snapped this picture of my Beautiful Bride in March, 2010. We were celebrating my birthday in a cabin at Serenity Falls near Cosby, Tennessee, in the Great Smoky Mountains. We were both learning how to use our new cameras at that time, and Betsy was on the deck of the cabin taking picture of the waterfall while I was on the ground below. I snapped this picture while we were discussing camera settings.

Betsy and I visit Mount Nebo in Arkansas every year, usually in the late winter or early spring. We visit at that time because waterfalls usually have a pretty good flow, and we practically have the mountaintop to ourselves. This picture was taken in February, 2010, and shows the Arkansas River in the valley below. There weren't any colorful leaves on the trees, but the sky was a gorgeous blue.

The Upper Waterfall on Falls Run in Blackwater State Park in West Virginia .is not off a park trail. To reach it I had to bushwhack down the stream from the road. I couldn't get real close because of rocks, boulders, fallen trees and rhododendron. But I did get close enough to get this picture of the pretty 17-foot waterfall.

We've had Melody Parfumée rose for several years. It's a grandiflora rose, I really like the unusual color, and it has a very pleasant, old-rose fragrance

Fairfield Glade is blessed with several lakes. Last month, on a beautiful February day, Betsy and I walked around one of the smaller lakes. The sky and lake were a gorgeous blue, and the reflections in the water were fantastic.

While driving Newfound Gap Road through the Smokies from Cherokee, North Carolina, to Gatlinburg, Tennessee, Betsy and I stopped at an overlook in North Carolina to admire the mountains. I noticed the sun rays streaming through the clouds in the background and snapped this picture.

This picture was taken in December, 2010. Betsy and I had gone to Ocean Isle Beach in North Carolina to enjoy the beach and get some good seafood. An advantage to our December beach trip was that we could enjoy the sunset from our room at the inn.
